Elke zomer reizen onze "World Elite" talenten naar het buitenland om een nieuwe cultuur te ontdekken en om hun talent aan de lokale jeugd te laten zien. Dit jaar zijn we uitgenodigd door de Bermuda Athletic Association om deel te nemen aan een lokaal voetbalkamp. Elk kind droomt ervan om later de nieuwe Ronaldo te worden, maar niet iedereen heeft het in zijn mars om dit ook daadwerkelijk te worden. Dit geldt niet voor onze World Elite talenten. Dit keer zijn Hakeem, Jenno, Solomon en Xavi naar Bermuda afgereisd om daar mee te trainen met de lokale jeugd gedurende een 10-daagse trip. Het samen spelen van voetbal gaf de lokale jeugd de kans om zich te identificeren met de talenten en hopelijk zijn ze door hun leeftijdsgenoten geïnspireerd om hun voetbaldroom werkelijkheid te laten worden!
Voor de Soccer & Performance Academy is het belangrijk dat de talenten leren over de cultuur van het land waar de trip naar toe gaat. Daarnaast leren ze wat het inhoudt om als prof te leven. Wij leren ze dingen zoals het geven van interviews, handtekeningen uitdelen en hoe ze zich als een professional moeten gedragen tijdens evenementen. Deze reis was een mix tussen hard werken en plezier en bovenal; dit hebben ze samen ervaren.
"Bermuda 2K17 was a fun but especially an educational trip because we went with boys who did not speak Dutch and to keep it fun you need to speak English so everyone can understand and talk with each other. The fun thing about that was that our English was not that great yet so sometimes we said things in a very funny way and we could all laugh about that afterwards. At first it was quite difficult but after a few days we found it a lot easier. In this way of traveling, you get to know each other better and you can see how the life of other young soccer professionals is."

"I've learned a lot during this trip like talking and communicating in English. The other thing is that I was one of the oldest boys of the group so it was my job to keep everyone together and to act more as a leader. I've also learned how to play soccer with other local kids which I was not used to. Last but not least: I learned that if you do something, you have to enjoy it to the fullest."
