End of collaboration

ORANJESTAD, ARUBA – December 1, 2025 – The Aruba Youth Soccer Academy (AYSA) and the Netherlands-based Soccer & Performance Academy (SPA) hereby announce the immediate termination of their partnership.

This decision marks a significant shift in AYSA's direction, with a full focus on a local approach for future development.

Parting Ways and Autonomy

With the immediate termination of the partnership, any involvement of Dutch coaches or SPA staff in AYSA's current and future decision-making will cease. From now on, the SPA team will have no involvement whatsoever in the further development of AYSA or the individuals behind it.

The AYSA management, led by Richard Charles, has indicated its intention to end the partnership in order to optimally serve Aruba's unique soccer culture and talent development.

Distancing Vision and Methodology

It is important to emphasize that with the termination of the partnership, SPA formally distances itself from the current and future training methodology and sporting vision within the Aruba Youth Soccer Academy. This methodology and vision were neither provided nor supported by the Soccer & Performance Academy. SPA emphasizes that with the termination of the partnership, it completely distances itself from the operational and sporting aspects of AYSA.

Both the Aruba Youth Soccer Academy and the Soccer & Performance Academy wish each other well in their respective future endeavors in the world of soccer.
